Summary

This short article presents the findings of a survey conducted by Cisco internationally. Many studies have already highlighted the declared sensitivity of Internet users about the respect of their private data. But this one goes further, by focusing on the concrete actions users take to protect their information: activation of the confidentiality options in the Internet browser, use of an ad blocking software, etc. The study thus identifies a segment of internet users, which it names “Privacy Actives”, who go to the extent, for example, of boycotting companies that lack in transparency or are too intrusive. Who are they? How can you meet their demands? These questions are addressed in the study, which underlines that the requirement for transparency is a growing and lasting trend.
