Why Design Thinking Works

Design Thinking is one of those approaches that, when well understood and implemented, can really deeply transform companies. This is the author’s thesis, who has studied more than 50 Design Thinking projects over a seven-year period. In her opinion, this method is to innovation what Total Quality Management was to manufacturing in the 80’s: it can free creative energies, reinforce staff commitment, optimize processes. Beyond a box of tools, the author mostly sees in Design Thinking a global approach that can remove the blocks that can insidiously hamper imagination: fear of expressing ideas, biases that prevent seeing true customer needs, etc.
