Summary
[Mastering Complexity To Develop Your Competitiveness]
This white paper is the product of work carried out by researchers from HEC Paris, École Polytechnique, and CESAMES, a consulting firm specializing in systems architecture. It explores the responses of companies in the face of increasing complexity, both external and internal. Its authors surveyed around 40 executives from major French companies in the manufacturing and service industries. Their feedback is analyzed according to four axes: perception of complexity, effects on business functions, strategies deployed to address it, and indicators used to manage it. The book provides a clear synthesis of these issues, supported by well-chosen operational examples. The sidebars illustrating the different strategies implemented by the companies make for a simultaneously structured and concrete read.
