L'avis de manageris

The principal theme of this book is to show that transparency is not just a constraint placed upon companies, but can also be a development opportunity. This view is supported by many examples of companies that have managed to seize this opportunity, including eBay, British Telecom and Progressive Insurance.
The great value of this book lies in the fact that the transparency issue is not tackled only from the angle of financial communication and governance, but also from the point of view of communication toward other, often-neglected, players, such as customers, employees, business partners and neighboring inhabitants. This is the focus of chapters 4 to 7, which undoubtedly contribute some of the most innovative ideas in this book.
However, the question of implementation is touched upon somewhat superficially. Although the last two chapters contain a long list of recommendations, the concrete issues raised by their implementation are rarely covered in great depth.
