Based on many interviews and case studies, this book sings the praises of a form of mentoring that is designed not only to train potential successors in the mentor’s image, but also to accelerate the development of a larger population in the company.
As an introduction, chapter 2 will help you get a panoramic view of the various forms that this type of mentoring may take, e.g. hierarchical mentoring, “reverse” mentoring, e-mentoring, group mentoring, etc. In addition, if you are wondering about the advantages of this type of relationship or are looking for arguments to convince your colleagues, chapter 3 will give you what you need, from the perspective of both the mentor and the mentee.
To get into the heart of the subject, we particularly recommend chapters 4 and 5, which offer a lot of practical advice on the attitudes and behaviors to adopt by the mentor, as well as by the protégé. These recommendations are illustrated with concrete examples described in chapter 6.
